THE STORY

MORE THAN 102 YEARS IN THE WORLD OF PAPER

In August 2009,  Ramón Chozas S.A. celebrated his 100 years of uninterrupted work.

This is quite an achievement, evidence of constant work and undisputed capacity to adapt to new market realities. A panoramic view to, in the same area of the transformation of paper, approach unlimited business opportunities.

Within the family business target is also a test case for his successful tenure under the mandate of a single name.

Historically it belonged and belongs to the descendants of those who gave him his name, a young Spanish man  who just arrived from his native Almeria, began making their way to work with boxes and cartons.

In 1906 he opened a bookstore called "Escuela Rivadavia" and in 1909 he bought Joseph Pardal a cardboard box factory on Calle Venezuela 1666. This moment  is considered the beginning of their industry.

On January 14, 1940, when Ramon died at the age of  66 years, his son Ramon Feliciano became  in charge of the business. In 1941 he dissolved the card box and box factory, and began brokering the sale of paper and paperboard in general. At first they were nationals. After the Second World War, imported. At the beginning of the 50 they started with the distribution of stationery and desktop items,  but the bulk of the work in Ramon Chozas converged in the paper market for print and publishing.

They also inaugurated the 50's with a great investment: a plant in the city of Barracas  with which they began the process of modernization of warehousing and logistics of raw materials and finished products.

DIVERSIFICATION  IN THE SAME BUSINESS

In 1953 Ramon Feliciano decided to purchase a new Workshop of  disk and pen. In it  they made accounting books and booklets.

Ramon Chozas  opted for another innovation to its factory: They bought an embossing machine and then a flexographic printer to design disposable napkins, a novelty for Argentina tables. In 1954 they  began to manufacture control booklets printed and numbered. For this purpose they bought a rotary . This determined the transition from handicraft factory boxes to the printing industry itself. In 1951, the children of Ramon Feliciano, both graduates of the University of Buenos Aires, were attached to an organization with more than one hundred employees.

HUSARES WAS BORN

In 1959, there was a standard product division and began to use the mark Husares. Lorena, Husares , RC1909 and Dobladitas were workhorses who came to the consumer by the stationary channel.

FURTHER KNOWN

In the late seventies they bought new rotating machines with which they devoted themselves to producing continuous forms on demand and standard. In 1991 Ramon Chozas launched a second generation of forms. An offset printer machine allowed them to manufacture higher value added products: boarding passes, credit card vouchers, among others.

In 1983 the San Luis province enacted the law of industrial promotion. They considered it a good choice for business growth and built a factory for the production of receipts and standard forms. Esta planta funcionó hasta el año 2003.

In the 90 th , paper products were sold as well as notebooks, notepads, crepe paper, etc.. from Brazil. Winnie Pooh and  Harry Potter were star figures of this stage.

Faced with dynamic market changes they looked  for different and new productos as paper rolls : toll stations, ATMs, credit cards, faxes, papers that used chemical processes. An automatic packaging machine was  acquired .

TODAY AND TOMORROW

In 1993 they  started with a more specifically production line : the security products. These details make them unique: seals, holograms, parts closed to the light perceived or break Within this sector the same factory service works with the latest security, restricted access, continuous monitoring and independent data center. This area has a shielded and approved vault.

The wheel of life keeps turning. And that box factory founded by a Spanish immigrant is today the support of over three  hundred families. They use unthinkable technologies, almost science fiction. Capitolio  and Husares are the best known brands in the consumer market. As a company, Ramon Chozas showed it can project  into the future with investments, technological and business projects. All this is complemented with affection and family pride .

The presence of descendants of Ramon Chozas  on successive directories is a fact that shows the commitment to sustain the company. The firm is synonymous with high added value role.
